With Dennis Miller I mean, Robyn Osten! :) If you are too old to understand that, phooey on you! :)
Sorry for the lack of update. These past few days have been, CRAAAAZY! I've had 3 sessions, in 4 days, 1 set of newborn twins, 1 STUNNING senior, and another newborn today. Plus we are still trying to get ready for the open house.... Oh, and my dad is still the hospital. So B/w trying to do all that, and let me children know their mother is still alive and breathing... it's been tough.
I'm WAAAAY behind on all photograph work. I've been trying to get up early so I could come down and get a little work done before my kiddos got up, but wouldn't you know, those are the days they got up early too. Murphy's Law... they needed some momma lovin'! :)
Anyhow, here is my update for my dad... I'm cutting and pasting from an update I gave another group at my church! (As you can see, my spirits are better. And so is my dad, although we have a LONG road of recovery ahead!)
...The past few days have been better. He was unable to have the(gastro scope) procedure on Friday morning b/c he was having chest pains, but as far as we can tell, there was no heart attack involved. But the gastro dr was uncomfortable doing the procedure until he knew what was going on with his heart. Also, on Thursday, he was finally given a dose of his rheumatoid arthritis meds ANDmy mom got a call from the Medicare people and they are FINALLY re-authorizing his meds! A little too late in my opinion, but at least he has them again!!!! Thank GOD!
We had a long meeting with a cardiologist last night, and then met with another one this morning and they have decided to do a heart cath on Monday morning. Basically, the gastro doc won’t do further testing till they know what’s going on with his heart, and the cardiologist can’t do much unless they know what’s going on with his hemoglobin. His hemoglobin WAS low, and they were worried of bleeding somewhere. That is what the gastro doc was looking for. So since he has had a blood transfusion a few days ago, his hemoglobin has raised enough that it is our understanding they could possibly do stints on Monday, during the cath procedure, if his hemoglobin stays up and it looks like he needs it/them!!!! As of now, they *think*(they’ll know more Monday) that all his arteries are involved, so really he needs bi-pass. But he is not a candidate for that right now b/c he’s so weak, and would be unable to do the rehab. It would be far too risky. But if there are only a one or two arteries involved, it is our understanding they will do stints.
Confused? Me too!!
Anyhow, my quick update is turning long! Overall, he is much more comfortable and not in soooo much pain! That is SUCH A HUGE RELIEF to see!!!! Leg is still broken… J But I guess healing fine. It seems to be the least of the worries! Also, many have asked about my mom. She is doing really well. She has been much better yesterday and today, as my dad has been better! I’m sure she’s exhausted, but she is holding up well! I know she appreciates the support, prayers and encouragement so much!!!!
So Monday, 10 am, he will have a heart cath put in to obtain better pictures of his heart. This will give us a much better idea of the damage already done, and the possibilities for the future! I’ll def let you know how it goes!
Thank you again! We definitely feel all the love and prayers surrounding our family!!!!.....
If any of you know my dad, he is a very funny guy an always has a sense of humor. To him, having a sense of humor is one of the greatest parts of life! So even through all this, he has kept his humor. To go in his hospital room and laugh, b/c he is funny, is quite a testimony to what a wonderful man my dad is! :) Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers that he will continue to make us laugh for many, many years! :)
