Thank you so much for the calls and notes of encouragement and prayers. It means more than you'll ever know.
My dad is doing ok, not great. He does have a broken leg after all. It's a very different type of break that they said they haven't seen many times before. He had a hip replacement years ago and it's a fracture on both sides of the supportive rod that's already there. There is nothing they can do for it, so it will have to heal on its' own, over time. He can put no weight on it for at least 30 days.
The other part of the equation, that's not very clear to us, is that he's having congestive heart failure. The cardiologist said his heart is functioning at 30%. I know nothing about this, but I'm guessing that's not good. He's very tired, and not completely aware of what's going on. Sometimes he seems ok, and a few minutes later he'll ask where he is and tell us he's ready to go home. :(
It's been a really long past few days. Thank you again for your support and prayers. My family truly appreciates it!
